In 2019, after collecting our new Condamine Camper from John, we set off on our first adventure.

From Gladstone to Sydney, to Bourke.

Camping at Bourke in the Mitchell Caravan Park

Getting into a rhythm setting up camp and loving the spacious room of our camper

We soon found the dirt roads and plenty of bulldust before stopping at the Sturt National Park for a night’s camp.

Sturt National Park

This was a self registration camp, while being a small distance off the track, was well worth stopping at.

To Tibooburra,

Tibooburra

As one of our lunch stops, it was a very interesting place to stop.  The school children had painted art on the rocks lining the school fence and the metal carvings throughout the town, were excellent.

To Cameron Corner,

Cameron Corner

A place in the middle of nowhere.

This is where the states of Qld, NSW and SA meet and you can have your photo taken at the corner post not far from the famous Dingo fence. Fuel top up is available with camping and meals if required.  There is even a game of golf in all 3 states at the same time if you are crazy enough to carry your clubs along. For an extra bit of fun, your signed hat can be hung on the wall after making a donation to the RFDS.

So far our trip is living up to our expectations and the camper is handling the rough dusty roads well, with little dust getting in. Lots of free camps and wide open spaces, gorgeous clear night skies which are just what we were looking for.

Till next time….
